Melhorn Manor sits on a three-and-a-half-acre property nestled in the small town of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. The property dates back to 1750 and is one of the oldest and well-maintained historic properties in the town. Originally it was a 200+ acre farm which later became the village of Florin. Around the turn of the 1900's, the Melhorn family purchased the property and ran the dairy and horse farm. In the late 1970's, John W. and Sandra Melhorn converted the barn from agricultural to commercial use. In 2017, Allory and Jessica Melhorn purchased and renovated the property transforming it into a premier wedding and event venue.
Originally built in 1750, the stone farmhouse has many historic features and has been updated with modern amenities. The Farmhouse was one of the first houses built in Mount Joy. It was originally a Stagecoach Inn back in the 1700's and 1800's along the main turnpike from Middletown to Lancaster. The original mile marker stone, dating back to the 1700's, still remains in the front yard today! The Farmhouse provides the perfect backdrop for stunning photo opportunities.
Our main barn features original 1800's and 1900's architecture and has been newly renovated with modern amenities.
The Tobacco Barn was originally used for drying and storing tobacco leaves when it was a fully operating farm. In the early 2000s, the Tobacco Barn was renovated by John W. and Sandra Melhorn and turned into a baseball and softball clinic. When Allory and Jessica Melhorn purchased the property in 2017, they completed numerous additional renovations to transform the Tobacco Barn into a remarkable ceremony location and event hall. This space can be used year-round due to heating renovations and the installation of large rustic windmill fans.
The Corn Barn was originally used to store the harvested corn and grain. This lightly renovated space is perfect for rehearsal dinners, gatherings and events, and smaller ceremonies. It is also a perfect location for indoor yard games or rustic photo opportunities during inclement weather. This barn is for seasonal use only.
Melhorn Manor is accessible to everyone with eight front-row handicapped parking spaces and easy access to both barn levels. There are over 150 paved and lined parking spaces available for guest use.
The landscape is well-maintained for beautiful photo opportunities.
